Intention
What makes a journey an act of worship

In the Footsteps of the Prophet ﷺ
In the Footsteps of the Prophet ﷺ
In development
A journey of worship, sīrah, landscape and reflection
Begin with ʿUmrah in Makkah, then travel towards Madinah through the story of the Hijrah - studying the places, decisions, sacrifices and lessons that shaped one of the defining passages of the Prophetic life
Opening
There are events in the sīrah that are understood differently when the landscape is before you
The Hijrah was not simply movement from one city to another. It carried fear, planning, sacrifice, companionship, reliance and an extraordinary certainty in Allah
This Sacred Journey begins with ʿUmrah in Makkah
From there, the programme turns north towards Madinah, following the story of the migration through its best-established places and historical accounts
The aim is not to recreate the past as spectacle
It is to study more carefully, reflect more deeply and allow the geography of the sīrah to give weight to what has often only been read on a page
The Hijrah changed more than geography. It changed what became possible

Act I · Makkah
Act II · The Hijrah
The journey changes here
Makkah is behind us
Madinah lies ahead
Between them is the Hijrah
What follows is not simply a transfer between two cities. The road becomes part of the curriculum
The road as curriculum
What makes a journey an act of worship
Reliance upon Allah did not mean abandoning careful planning
The Hijrah was carried through trust, loyalty and service
Leaving what is beloved for what Allah commands
The road to Madinah was not the shortest road to ease
The Hijrah did not end with escape - it opened a new chapter of Muslim life

Arrival
The road begins to give way to arrival
A city that received the Messenger of Allah ﷺ
The Hijrah changed more than geography. It changed what became possible
Scholarship
Responsible sīrah distinguishes established evidence, strong historical report, later tradition and modern identification. Locations associated with the Hijrah will be published only after verification
Historical route identifications vary in certainty. The Institute distinguishes established evidence from later or modern geographical attribution. Locations will be published only after verification, access review and safety assessment. The modern journey is an educational study experience - not a claim that every modern road reproduces the precise seventh-century route
Before Makkah
Preparation begins before Makkah. Before departure, participants will receive a guided reading programme introducing the Hijrah, its historical setting and the people whose actions shaped the journey. Specific titles will be published when approved
Reflection
Personal reflection is not formal religious interpretation
Programme shape
A possible daily rhythm - operational times will be published only when logistics are confirmed
Dates, faculty, route, lodging and registration will be announced when the programme is ready. Nothing on this page is offered for booking
